Beta Fish Fiasco

I pulled an I Love Lucy Moment with Leslie's beta fish. I thought I'd get rid of a gross looking fish bowl just for a few moments. The cable guy was coming to fix a problem and needed the desk the fish bowl was on. I was mortified to see the film of scum floating above the fish. You really couldn't even see the poor fish. So I ever so gently escorted it to hide in the bathroom. I fully intended to tend to the poor thing later. In my ADD ways, that thing was the furthest thing from my mind. I didn't think about it until 6am this morning when Les screamed out MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...WHY IS THE FISH IN THE TUB???? I am still laughing.

Gravity Weekend

Our daughter turned 13 this weekend. Happy Birthday!! What am amazing time for us. I still feel like a teenager, so I am really getting a kick out of having a teen daughter. On Friday afternoon we had our own element of drama. I could see it in her face, she was about to cry in the pick up line at her middle school. She was upset about a something that really hurt her feelings Friday afternoon. The timing was frustrating...cause she was in tears just a couple of hours before she had to get ready for her big weekend. You know the kind of tears...the kind that you can't get your face back together no matter how much concealer you use. I knew in my heart God was up to something with this timing...otherwise it would have really stunk! But you know what, she talked to her grandmother and she was promised that she would not get off her knees until she had peace that God was going to do something wonderful from that. Grandmother got her peace, God did his glorious work, peace and joy came! With our church the youth had our D-Now weekend. It was her first time to go and I knew she needed to connect with the Lord in a wonderful way. Can I just say that she has finally crashed on our bed. She has talked and talked about the experience until she fell asleep exhausted and full of peace. We have a lot of things to Thank God for! Thank You God for everything! That heartache turned out to be just the exact thing she needed. Wow...God, even from her own words she said she was glad it happend to her the way it did. This way she was willing to let God talk to her.

Earlier that day I had my own prayer needs that were taken to the Lord by women I have never had the joy of meeting. (THANK YOU) I didn't have to go into any kind of detail...to tell you the truth...I didn't know what my needs even were. I just knew if I asked someone to lift my name to the Lord...it would be done and did you all ever bless me! God knew exactly what my need were that day. He took care of me all that day. Still Is!

Here's Carlie

What a darling little shepherd dog. She is the sweetest person in the family. I can't say enough "sweetness" things about her. I will tell you about the other night tho. By nature she is a very protective dog. She keeps our girls on a tight leash! She knew our youngest was outside and playing in the front yard...when my friend drove up to pick her up for me. They left together and I came in alone. It was so uncomfortable for her to wonder why her little girl (her best friend) got in a strage car. She just jumped all over the living room...couch, husbands lap, couch husbands lap...like a crazy dog. She was trying to tell us that something was wrong. We just thanked her and thanked her and loved on her and tried to explain to her that she was riding to church with a friend and she was fine and we knew she left with that lady...and in about an hour she could be with her gal again. Carlie just rested right there by the door and didn't budge until she had her little girl friend back.

Poor Girl, Going to Miss Her 100th Day of School!

I could just cry for Mary, she's missing her huge event for a kindergartener! I wondered if she was coming down sick last night when she had a bad headache! It's a big yes! She has at least 102, prob pushing 103*! She was so sad because today she was going to get to be in a parade and wear her crown we hot glued 100 beads to. She was going to get to visit the first graders and spend the day celebrating the big milestone.

I asked her if I could make her feel better by getting her something special...and she asked for anything she wanted from the "Dollar Tree."
